Rice County, KS — August 10, 2026 — The Rice County Community Foundation (RCCF) is excited to announce the opening of the Fall 2026 Community Fund Grant application cycle. Beginning Monday, August 10th, organizations and community groups from all eight communities in Rice County are invited to submit applications for impactful projects that foster growth, vitality, and well-being in their towns. Applications will be accepted through September 30, 2026.

The Community Fund Grant program is a unique opportunity designed to support projects that address local needs, promote community engagement, and enhance the quality of life across Rice County. Grant awards are allocated to each community based on population figures reported in the U.S. Census, ensuring an equitable distribution of funds that reflects the size and needs of each town.

Grant Allocation by Community

Each of Rice County’s eight communities has a specific grantable dollar amount available for 2026:

  • Alden — $4,770
  • Bushton — $6,500
  • Chase — $12,700
  • Geneseo — $7,500
  • Little River — $15,000
  • Lyons — $115,500
  • Raymond — $4,770
  • Sterling — $72,000

Eligibility

Entities eligible to apply for funding include:

  • Non-profit organizations (501(c)(3))
  • Public and private schools
  • Municipalities and townships
  • Public libraries
  • Quasi-governmental agencies (e.g., Centers for Counseling, Councils on Aging)

Grant Timeline

  • Application Period: August 10 – September 30, 2026
  • Grant Period of Performance: October 29, 2026 – October 29, 2026
  • Final Reporting Deadline: December 1, 2026

Applications can be submitted online at www.ricecountycf.org. Proposed projects should demonstrate a clear and positive impact on the community, align with local priorities, and be feasible within a reasonable timeframe.
